Tuesday Tune-Up: Brakes

Right up there with your tires, having good operating brakes is key to an enjoyable on-track experience. Brakes have come a long way in the past few years, but that doesn’t mean they don’t need occasional attention. While many current performance-oriented cars come with superior brake pads, always ensure that there is plenty of pad material. If you do need to put new pads on pre-event, make sure you have a few hundred miles on them to bed the surfaces properly, before heading out on track.

ASC Weekend Review

There were four very popular winners this past weekend in the world of motor sports. Our pal Tanner Foust won the Formula Drift competition in Seattle in his Rockstar Energy Drink Scion while a little further east, Mark Webber became a three time winner in F1 by taking the British GP at Silverstone. Max Biaggi won the World Superbike race at Brno on his Aprillia and David Reutimann was a happy Sprint Cup winner at Chicagoland Speedway. If there were any other significant happenings among our ASC family this weekend, let us know about it and we'll spread the news.

ASC Weekend Review

This 4th of July weekend was a pretty good one for racing fans in general but especially for friends of the American Speed Club. In Watkins Glen New York, our pals Peter Cunningham and Nick Esayian went 1-2 for RealTime Acura in the World Challenge GTS class and Rafael Matos followed that up with a solid forth in the IZOD Indy Car series. Down south in Georgia, Doug Van Den Brink won the Formula Drift Pro Am at Gresham Motorsports Park. Congratulations to all the guys!

ASC Weekend Preview

As we celebrate our Independence this weekend we'll also be watching some of our favorite racers and friends of the American Speed Club in action. The NASCAR Sprint Cup guys will be lighting fireworks in Daytona while the Indy Cars and World Challenge boys will be at Watkins Glen. And if wreckin' on two wheels is your thing, the AMA Superbike series is at famous Road America this holiday weekend. Let us know who you like and we'll pass that along.
